Field of general trauma, upper extremity trauma, shoulder trauma and sports injuries to the knee and shoulder, degenerative diseases of the hand, shoulder and elbow

Graduated from medical faculty Maribor, Slovenia in 2011, later became  a resident of general Surgery in a small local hospital in Ptuj, Slovenia. During residency he had a great interest in trauma surgery and developed a passion for upper extremity trauma. In 2017 finished his residency program and became focused on shoulder arthroscopy and later in 2019 in arthroplasty.

Due to the region where he works he also needs to handle general trauma and pediatric trauma. Through the years of residency till now he gathered a spectrum of experience and now works in the field of general trauma, upper extremity trauma, shoulder trauma, sports injuries to the knee and shoulder, degenerative diseases of the hand, shoulder and elbow. And when on call, has to do an occasional laparoscopic appendectomy.

In 2020 he became the acting head of the department of surgery, and at the start of the year 2021 as the permanent head of the department of surgery in general hospital Ptuj, Slovenia.

He is a member of Slovenian society for arthroscopy and sports injuries and Slovenian society for Traumatology, long-term member of AO Trauma (AO Foundation) and ESSKA and SECEC orthopaedic societies. In the past few years has also regularly attended the congress in Valdoltra. He is also a member of the assembly of the regional committe of the medical chamber of Slovenia.

Our hospital was founded in 1909 as a sanatoryum for bone diseases for the Austro-Hungarian Empire. After World War I it was renovated by the American Red Cross. In 1920 it was taken over by the Italian Red Cross and after WW II Valdoltra became part of Yugoslavian health systeme. It turned to orthopaedics and in early 1961 was renamed Valdoltra Orthopaedic Hospital.
