Dr. Martin Asker has been working as a sports medicine therapist for twenty five years, collaborating with many elite sports clubs and athletes.
He is an associate professor, sports and head of the Handball Research Group at Sophiahemmet University in Stockholm, Sweden. His research and clinical work focus on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and return to sport, with a particular emphasis on shoulder injuries in overhead sports. He has been part of the medical team for several Swedish national teams and is currently working with the Swedish national handball team. Dr. Asker has authored several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, with a focus on overhead athletes, handball medicine, and sports science.
